According to science our bodies are built as different types of machines and no two machines are the same, but we can categorize them by the gases and oils they require to work properly in their everyday use.
Example, research tells us that O Negative blood types are protein based and that animal protein is a necessity to feed the body properly. A bloodtypes, positive or negative play very nicely with a plant based diet considering their bodies do not process meat or dairy products well.
The most common argument you will hear outside of the vegan community and the most common joke within it will be, “So… Where do you get your protein.” Because no matter what your blood type may be, it plays a large roll in making our machines functional.
What is it?: If you haven’t heard of Spirulina before, prepare to have your mind blown by this microalgae packed with protein! In simple terms, Spirulina is a type of blue-green seaweed that has been apart of earth since the beginning of time. Spirulina can be bought in a powder or capsule form and contain 55- 70% MORE protein in one serving than in a serving of any lean meat product including chicken and fish.
What does it do?: Spirulina is not only loaded in protein, but also in vitamins containing a total of 8 essential amino acids, vitamin B12, 10 non essential amino acids, (which break down fat) and compounds that build immunity, stronger bones, and energy, meanwhile fighting fatigue and cleaning the liver.
How do I use it?: Spirulina does come and can be made into a capsule form if you do not prefer the smell or taste of it. Spirulina does have a little bit of an earthy smell and even a little bit of that earthy taste to it, but plays so nicely when made into a vinaigrette or blended into a smoothie.
